Welcome back to online stepping stones and sorry about the huge delays in articles, sometimes it’s hard to find the time to write blog posting and carry on with the day to day grind of the job; in today’s article I want to introduce Cake PHP.

Frameworks have long been used to make a developers life easier but some of the less known frameworks are difficult to run on shared hosting environment; which is also the most popular hosting solutions for new start up companies.

At the moment I am investigating the new version of Cake PHP 1.3 and finding it quite powerful but so far I have only been testing it on my development WAMP server running on my laptop and every developer worth his socks knows that, it’s one thing to get something running on a development machine and completely something else to eventually get it working within a production environment.

I will go into more depth of the structure and key elements within Cake PHP at a later stage but at the moment this article is really only an ice breaker to readers that know nothing about this framework; hopefully over time this will be the start of a series of articles relating to Cake PHP which will eventually allow me to produce some working examples and tutorials for people to try for themselves.

BUT I have still one lingering question to be answered; will Cake PHP run on a shared hosting environment because online stepping stones staff are dedicated to helping the little man and the start up communities and if Cake PHP doesn’t work on a shared hosting environment then it’s pretty much useless to everyone that uses shared hosting; it’s extremely important to us that not only can we help you build your website but we also want to keep your costs down.

So I leave you with one final question; Will Cake PHP work on a standard shared hosting environment?

Thank you for reading this article and tune in soon to my findings on whether or not Cake PHP will work on a shared hosting environment. If you can’t wait and want more information on Cake PHP now, then please visit their website.
